More than 100 years of cinema in Göppingen: Wilhelm Huttenlocher, who died in 1956 at the age of 87, had seen a showing of French films at a fair as a young baker soon after the Lumière brothers had invented their cinematograph in France in 1895, and was immediately grabbed by the idea of showing films. His whole striving was aimed at one day owning his own cinema. As a first step towards realizing this plan, he ran a film distribution business next to his bakery from 1905 on.
